I have written quite a bit on Hub Pages. I enjoyed writing there and actually, for the time I invested, I made some pretty good money.
I chose that strategy because I’d noticed that in small, specific keyword niches, hub page results did quite well without having their own “domain name”.
As you know, the recent Google Algorithm change hurt many folks whose work Google categorized as “substandard”. Hub Pages was extremely hard hit evidently.
I can tell because I”m getting emails all the time asking me to make more and more new changes to perfectly acceptable hubs a few months ago… AND HUBS THAT WERE CHANGED TO MEET THEIR “NEW” STANDARDS A FEW WEEKS AGO.
I’m glad I don’t have 100′s of hubs, because I just got another annoying email whining about all the problems I had to change.
Frankly the changes are so quibbling and stupid, I’ll likely put the content elsewhere.
I’m especially upset because they are penalizing good quality hubs because of the work of spammers who can barely write in English who are on related topics.
They are especially targeting “commercial” topics. Yet they want you to write there to get Adsense revenue… how do you get decent Adsense revenue without writing about valuable keywords.
I think they’ve got an Arrianna Huffington complex… they want people to write in hopes of making money and then basically jerk you around like this.
I’m peeved… but I suppose they’re concerned with their own survival.
